Biography
Muazu is a financial sector specialist at the Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility (ADFI), which is a special initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB). In this role, he leads and contributes to high-level policy development and advisory services on the financial sector. Over the past years, he has worked for various organizations including the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), FAT Africa, and ActionAid International (Ghana Country Programme). In these positions, he supported African governments, financial sector regulators, and the private sector in developing policies to improve financial inclusion and promote economic development in Africa. Muazu has also served as an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, Ghana.
Muazu holds a PhD in Economics and Finance from Wits Business School, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He also has an MSc in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK, and a BA degree in Economics (First Class Honours) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST, Ghana).
