Building peaceful and inclusive societies is a core aspect of YOVI’s youth development
approach. The organisation recognises that young people have a critical role to play in
promoting peace and preventing violent extremism. YOVI conducts peace-building
training programmes that empower young people with conflict resolution skills, early
warning signs, intercultural understanding, and communication techniques. By fostering
dialogue and collaboration among diverse communities, YOVI aims to bridge divides
and promote social cohesion. The organisation also collaborates with Metropolitan,
Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), community leaders, and other
stakeholders to address the root causes of violent extremism and develop strategies to
prevent radicalisation among vulnerable youth. Our approach emphasizes proactive
measures that promote tolerance, understanding, and empathy.
